*  Welcome to a new school year! There are many changes that will happen this year. The biggest adjustments are that we switch classes, along with letter grades for the first time.

*  Mrs. Kim Evans teaches Math to all third graders.

*  Mr. Matt Alessandrini teaches Social Studies to all third graders.

*   I  will have all the third grade for Science.
I will also teach Reading and Language Arts
 to my homeroom.

*  If your child needs to be absent for an appointment during the year the afternoon is the best time for them to miss.

Science Procedures

  • Reading
  • We are going to begin a new Reading program based on phonics. We will also be using the text book at times.  Envelopes will be sent home with books to be read at home. We are also starting the AR reading this year. The students must pass one AR test each nine weeks with an 80%. The second semester they will have to pass two tests.

  • Language
  • We are learning the parts of speech and story writing.

  • Spellling

We have a spelling workbook that we will follow this year. We will have one lesson each week, provided we have at least 4 days in that week. The words will be given on Monday, along with a workbook assignment and the test will be on Fridays. I will send word lists home with 5 units listed for studing at home.
